Anybody know who will get to ship their boats over in the container from US to Spain? Should those spots be made available to the top US teams first? If so, how would anyone know who those teams are, if there are no standings listed anywhere? Isn't that what the NA F18 organization is supposed to do, or am I assuming too much? I'm surely not in the hunt for a spot there but I'm sure some of the guys who want to go and will be actually competetive would like to know where they stand. Or is the container (if there is one) just for a certain group selected by other criteria? Just curious.

I am thinking of making a list of the most likely qualifiers then finding out who among them would not be interested in going. Or maybe who really thinks they can make it.

There are only two teams that have contacted me to find out if they qualify. They are Daniel Hearn and John Tomko. Both are quality sailors and I think will represent NAF18 well. If there is someone else interested in going to Spain on one of the NAF18 spots please contact me. I am still on the fence of whether I can go, but due to the fact that there is not a good ranking for this year yet do not know where I sit.
I have asked John Williams to help get the spreadsheet together, he has accepted, and we will be working on it very soon. We are actually still cleaning up from the ISAF event at ABYC.

Since the NA's was a week long event, why not use it for the rankings? Just like the Area Alter Cup Qualifiers. I am clearly not suggesting anyone in particular, I was just curious since I have heard nothing about it here on this forum. Not being an F18 sailor myself, I probably am out of line for saying any of this but in order for this class to continue to grow, shouldn't some sort of standings be made available to racers paying thier class dues? Otherwise, what's the point of the whole thing? You can only go on for so long on the selling point of

. Rank the class members and show them that the NAF18 Class is the right choice for the top competetition. I have been seriously kicking around the idea of going from the N20 class to F18, but I am seeing a
resurgence
in the N20 class. I don't know why this is but it's making me look hard at what is being done to promote the F18 class in North America. I know what you are doing as Chairman is a thankless job and I'm not knocking it. I'm just curious where the class is gong here and how it compares to Europe's organization.
