F18 Americas Continental
Here you have Robi
There´s not much F18 fleets in Central and South America yet.
Argentina: 15-20 for year end (2008 started Racing)
Chile: 5 in a 30+ Prindle 19 fleet (beginning to migrate to F18)
Brazil: Hobie 16 14 , some N20s (hundreds of Hobie racers)
Paraguay: Big fleet of Supercats, Hobie 14s (just took one 'F18' month ago, but is more like a Pearl model, they might start sailing F18 in the future)
Uruguay: No fleet 2 F18s
Rest is Hobie 16 land: Mexico, Guatemala, Puerto Rico, Venezuela etc.
Ecuador? no info
But we started racing F18 in Argentina-South America in Jan 2008 (1st boat launched August 2006) so this is just the beginning and we already have two crews in Belguim as mentioned so we are on the right track.
Like I said if I have to relocate to Ecuador I will be exporting a Capricorn. How? I have no clue, but I will try my hardest to get it down there.
There is very little sailing in Manta (beach city) Ecuador. There is one yacht club that seems to have a small sailing program. Last time I was down there, I noticed two optis, one laser and one sunfish going around what seemed like a course.
What part of Argentina is the F18 sailing going on?
Es un largo camino desde Ecuador. Me encantaria poder navegar alla abajo. El viento es mucho mejor que el de aqui de la Florida en los Estados Unidos. Bueno viento y buenas playas son la combinacion perfecta.
Tendre que ver cuanto cuesta un vuelo desde Guayaquil Ecuador hasta Buenos Aires.
I know, long trip to drive with your Cap <img src="<>/wink.gif" alt="wink" title="wink" height="15" width="15" />
Licensed AHPC Capricorns are going to be built here so you could have a ride one here too if you come.
Our main championships these year is
Semana (Week) de Buenos Aires
in October and 2nd Nationals in December.
Keep in touch and I'll get you a place in a boat to race
