Hi all,
Well I've run across a TheMightyHobie18 Magnum I'm thinking of purchasing. It looks as though it could use a new set of sails. Do you have a recommendation as to where to get a set these days? And what do they usually cost?

I would suggest Hobie sails if your going to race. Contact your local Hobie bealer. If there isn't a Hobie dealer available then Jeremy At Surf City Catamarans can order them and ship to you. He also carries a his own line of sails which would save you some $$$$ but wouldn't be class legal to race. But they are a quality product and perform very well. I'm buying all my tiger sails from him for f-18 racing. 831-359-5918 is his shop #.

Hi Rich,
Thanks for the info. I'll file it away for future reference.

Forgot about the tramp the only one id buy is a stock hobie. I raced the 18 for 10 years and the after market tramps never last yet my stock ones were good for over 5 years.
Vinyl Tramp $410.00 white
Mesh tramp $468.00 black
$540.00 turquoise

Again, thanks. Reading elsewhere on this forum the OEM tramp seems to be the way to go alright. I wasn't interested in a mesh tramp because the water temps in the spring and early summer in the lakes in NM can be downright chilly so the protection of a solid tramp is a good thing. And I've flown enough hulls in my time that I'm aware of how to feather the helm to stay up but not over.
