I'm seeing and hearing a lot of people on the next generation boats who seems to be snapping them fairly regularly. Is this a result of the new board designs being so narrow that they are not as strong as needed to resist the force on them?

What does everyone think?

I snap my boards the old fashioned way, BTW...

Dude, Nacrakid, why do you keep doing that?

If your name was, like, ummm, UKPunk or, oh I don't know YoungPunkRacer, or something like that, it wouldn't be so predictable. But with a name like N-A-C-R-A kid, of course you're going to say things like that. You need a sock puppet. What about Wildcatkid, or just Wildkid, you know, something like that? That way it doesn't look so ridiculous. <img src="<>/grin.gif" alt="grin" title="grin" height="15" width="15" />

Rex, There have been some issues with both foils and boards on a lot of the production boats of all brands as of late. Seems like the factories have been finding the issues and taking care of them. I think that with shaving weight and making them longer and narrower, the material and the way that they have been manufactured historically has reached a threshold. I don't know exactly how they fixed them though. A few more layers of carbon? Some more G10 stringer, someone knows.

The way I read it NacraKid said there was a problem and it was fixed. Why you jumping on him Surf City. Chillax Bro. I'm going to bring you some of our local pride to help you mellow out. <img src="<>/crazy.gif" alt="crazy" title="crazy" height="15" width="15" />

People here argue more over brand stuff than on the Diesel truck forums. <img src="<>/sick.gif" alt="sick" title="sick" height="15" width="15" />

I would be scared to own a Hobie product the Hobie police might yell at me for not keeping it clean. God for bid if I broke something or hit some rocks. <img src="<>/laugh.gif" alt="laugh" title="laugh" height="15" width="15" />

Watch it David, we'll be sharing a cell <img src="<>/grin.gif" alt="grin" title="grin" height="15" width="15" />

Hey Rich, See how Dlennard put a <img src="<>/laugh.gif" alt="laugh" title="laugh" height="15" width="15" /> after his post?

That means he was razzzing you and joking around. Go up and notice how I put a <img src="<>/grin.gif" alt="grin" title="grin" height="15" width="15" /> at the end of my response?

What conclusion can you draw from that? This is a test, time's a ticking... <img src="<>/grin.gif" alt="grin" title="grin" height="15" width="15" />

Everyone's so serious in this F18 forum. Save the seriousness for PMs

Better add a few more so everyone knows I'm playing <img src="<>/grin.gif" alt="grin" title="grin" height="15" width="15" /> <img src="<>/grin.gif" alt="grin" title="grin" height="15" width="15" />

Hobie people seem almost as sensitive as F16 people.

All i'm saying is the facts, Wildcat's had a lot of hull probelms at first, and I know a boat builder who repaired one and showed me that compared to a tiger they were no way near as well built.

With the boards, they were at first having problems with them snapping, they were high aspect and thats what the above posts were asking about.

Nacra boards had probelms at points with the trailing edge being chipped to bits, but theyre not very high aspect so what was the point of me saying that?

I've raced a Wildcat and i actually really like them, they are really nice upwind, point like hell, so have a think before you start screaming 😛
