[#27523]

Does anyone have a list of the ideal line lengths for the Infusion? I'm specifically wondering how long my spin halyard and spin sheets should be?

Thanks

I know you asked for infusion, but given the lack or response, the C2 manual has line lengths in it, I would suspect things like spin sheets and halyards are similar. At least give you a starting point.

The full manual can be found off of their web page (google ahpc), from it:

Kite halyard:
15.3m FSE Light Sheet Line 5mm: 15.3 M
3.0 mm dyneema: 7.8 M
(I'm not sure if this is simply the exposed component of the main halyard on a separate halyard / tack line system, or the two parts of the combined system)

Tack Line:
FSE Light sheet line 5mm: 5.0m
3.0 mm Dyneema: 5.0m

(again, not sure what system this is for, perhaps the listing is there for the separate system... I just sent ahpc and email for clarification)

Spin sheets:
8mm 15.5m
(with a 1m 4mm spectra centre loop)

Hope that helps, I'll post again once I get clarity on what system those halyard / tackline measurements are for.

Thanks but I'd like to get specific measurements for the Infusion before I cut my lines down. I have the stock lengths now.

I happened to have my spin halyard in the truck. Here is what I measured out (it's a brand new halyard that I made last weekend). Total length - 73'.... 25' tapered (stripped cover), 33' cover and core, 15' cover only (core removed).

What triple composite line are you using? I need to replace mine, and would copy your specs.

Thanks,

R

I'm not really up on the names of all the lines out there, I am using a 5mm double braid with a spectra core. Cover stripped on one end of the line to achieve the taper and core stripped out of the other end for lighter more flexible line as it comes out of the suffer and up the kite when hoisted.

One of the trick's I've used - take a 50' piece of doublebraid (use something with a coated core like Endurabraid), milk the cover down 25 and bury it back into the core at your taper point. The result is a 75' halyard - 25' core, 25' cover/core, and 25' cover only.
