Eastern Area:

April: Spring training
May 18-19: Madcatter, Syracuse, NY
June 8-9: Madison Regatta, Madison, CT
June 15-16: Hampton Beach Regatta, Hampton Beach, NH
July 6-7: Statue Race, Sandy Hook, NJ
July 13-24: Newport Regatta, Newport, RI
July 26-28: Hyannis Regatta, Hyannis, MA (Eastern Area Championship)
Aug 17-19: CORK, Kingston, Ontario (Multihulls Invited)
Sept 14-15: Roton Point Regatta, Rowayton, CT
Oct 5-6: HPDO, Rye, NY

We will also have the New England 100, probably the second weekend in August out of Quincy, Ma, and potentially an Americas Championship warmup event in Wickford, RI in Late September.

Biggest event of the summer is the Eastern Area Champs at Hyannis. Last year we had 26 boats, and I would like to see 30 this year!

Not the US, but the F18 Canadian Nationals were just anounced for Toronto. They had 32 boats at that venue in 2010.

All,
We @ OSYC, (MS), are hosting the Hobie MidWinters April 11-14. Event is open to all F18's, per Hobie guidelines. So far we only have 2 boats registered...............which is a bit of a shock. Are there any other F18 sailors planning on coming, that are not registered yet? I would hope at such a great venue , at this time of the year (usually great winds), we would be able to garner a larger fleet. Any thoughts on why the F18 class may be

boycotting

this regatta? I sure would like to know of any others that are coming or what's the reason for such the poor turnout? Thanks,

You are aware of the google calendar:
Northeastern Catamaran Sailing

URL is: https://www.google.com/calendar/embed?src=garvinpointsailing%40snet.net&ctz=America/New_York ]Northeastern Catamaran Sailing

NAF18's website is chronically out of date, whereas the NE cat Google calendar has all the organizers listed as admins, so they update this calendar accordingly. I can list you as an Admin too, if you provide your email.

(If NAF18 understood the advantages, they'd ask everyone in the country to do the same, then those college-smart edjamakated NAF18 admins could simply embed the ICAL or HTML google calendar into their website...so that real-time changes were picked up by NAF18...ummmm...just sayin'...snarky Sturgis Truckin-style implied! heheh)

I actually didn't know that google calendar existed- thanks.

Mike is working hard to overhaul the USF18 site currently. The changes will allow each area rep to add content- should help keep things up to date.

There is an event planned in Racine Wisconsin, on the Lake Michigan Ocean in August by CRAW, where they held the windless F18NA a few years ago.

That event is the week after the East coast championships?

So we could bring a couple boats and some Aussies to Hyannis and to Racine? One trip and max exposure. Let me talk to the boss about that one.
