Hello everyone,

I have a 1997 Nacra, the last time I took it out for a spin I had quite a bit of water in my starboard hull. i ruled out the plug hole as the source of the leak,Now thinking it must be coming from the daggerboard sleave, (for lack of a better word). Was wondering how it is constructed and how I might repair it. I can feel a lip up at the top and what seems like a sealant ring around the top of the daggerboard trunk.

How thick might that bottom fiberglass be up into the hole, in case i have to grind, remove gelcoat to fiberglass repair etc.

appreciate any advice.

thanks

Wilson

I have had a closer look and found a crack running up the back side of the daggerboard trunk (3-4''). On the top of the hulll there seems to be a cap thats pushed down over the top of trunk tube, it's sealed with a compound.

Is it possible to remove this 12 x 12 inch. cap to repair the trunk from inside the hull. (with this cap removed I could get my hand down to the bottom of the trunk. But i don't want to start prying it off it it is not meant to be removed. - It's a NACRA Inter 18
