I was just checking out the Tradewind Results and noticed that JC with Kenny and Ollie with Kelly came right down to the throwout before the win was decided. They both had one 1st, two 2nds and two 3rds after they each took a throwout. Going into the last race O and K had 11 points and J and K had 13 points. If you looked at the score with the worst race taken out it would have been 8 points to 10 points. JC and Kenny had to win to even up the score, then it came down to the tie breaker. Looks as though only 6 boats of 11 sailed in the last race. I was wondering this were a case of Ollie and Kelly not adding the points right or if they had someplace to go and did not sail the last race? Too close for comfort.

Olli and Kelly flipped the last race and went in after that as that caused them to lose hold of 1st.
Same story with us, we flipped halfway through the race, my crew got separated from the boat and we said screw it as we were pretty far behind by the time we got sailing again.
It was really close racing though and I feel like everyone agreed that the scored would have been almost identical had the top sailors switched boats. It appeared that the difference in speed was small, if anything.
Although, I heard some tiger sailors say they burried the bow a few times and we only had 1 or 2 minor incidents on the Capricorn.
Todd are you a Capricorn owner? I thought you were some mucky muck in a Hobie fleet?
Wish I was sailing with you all. I was thinking about writing to someone down there to see if there may be a boat or skippering position available but I did not.

Nope I am not a Cap owner. Although, if we had a fleet of them in our area i'd strongly consider purchasing one.
I just chartered the Cap from Jill Nickerson for the weekend. It was actually my first time skippering an F18, i've done a few regattas on the I-20 and 6.0 and a good amount of crewing on a Tiger. I'm still in college and can't really afford a great competitive boat. I just sold my Nacra 6.0 this past week and am planning to buy something.. maybe a used Tiger sometime this season or next.
What exactly did you mean by mucky muck hobie fleet?
I would definitley reccomend going to Tradewinds next year, this was my 2nd one and I will be there next year.

Anyway, I will consider getting to the event next year. Hope you find a boat. I am sure you have thought about this but what about a partner? Sometimes works out sometimes does not. You really need the right chemistry for a boat partnership to work. I think that Sandra Ts boat is still for sail.
