Milt Ingram Race
I'll be there on my F18. The guy that crewed for me last year will be there on his own F18. I'll try and get some of the SB locals to come down too.
There are 9 F18's signed up for the Delta Ditch Run this weekend held in the bay area. Hopefully some of the SoCal F18's will make the short trip to Ventura for a cheaper, logistically easier, and more fun race around Anacapa.

Let me know if any of the Santa Babs guys are on the fence and need a crew. I'm currently
boatless
and available to do the race.
Is this what you mean by Ventucky Red?
The district of the city of Ventura California defined as being the home of the white trash that have been displaced from Oxnard.
I looked it up on google as I was curious to know what you are getting at.
You did not mention your crewing vitals.

Yeah that too, glad you pointed that out! Use to live in your area Belmont Heights where I was for about 10 years 300 Block of Termino.
Crew experience, I have skippered a NACRA 5.8, Prindle 18-2 a few times for both the Milt and Tri-Point, and ran the Hardway Race on the 5.8. Also use to run my Classic Prindle 18 out there for fun numerous times.
Not to
feather my cap
, buuuutttt, I was the one that pushed PBYC to open the Hard Way and the Tri-Point to Beachcats by unofficially running the Tri-Point showing them that beach cats can do it and they added a beach-cat class to the entire Island Series not just the Milt Ingram Race.
As for F-18 crewing, I may be a little overweight (220 lbs) but have some expereince in running this race.
Any of you guys coming up? They need five boats preregistered or they are not running the class.
BTW - looking for a NACRA F18 if you know of any for sale.
Go to the PBYC web site and download the entry form. As for the cut off they would like to have this in a week before the race. Don't know who is registered as of yet.
I see no cutoff date for registering for the Milt Ingram July 17th in the NOR or Registration paper.
That race is just before we are about to pack the boats up for the NAs. Considering that the weather there has the potential to blow dogs off chains and have large wave action, I will have to bow out to make sure my boat can make it to the container.
Ventucky: I do know of a Nacra F18 for sale near you. It is not an Infusion it is the last model made by Nacra, designed and built after the I-18. It is hard, because of the name, to distinguish what you are looking for. For now let's call it the Nacra Middle 18.
Later,
Dan
The race organizers are asking that anyone planning to race to sign up by Thursday so that the chase boat can be arranged.
This is a really fun race. Don't let Dan scare you. The conditions are more mild than the typical Long Beach conditions. Last year my 62 year old crew had been on a small sailboat 4 times in his life and had never done a sailboat race.
It is a 10 mile beat from Ventura to an oil rig passing giant pods of dolphins (and keel boats) on the way, a 4 mile reach to Anacapa Island, 4 mile run in the wind shadow of the island (just in time for a snack), then a crazy 12 mile reach back to Ventura.
For anyone near by, consider how easy the logistics are. You drive up in the mourning, race, and then drive home in the evening with Sunday to recover.
