There's a 2nd hand F18 for sale here in Holland which is said to built using the 2006 methods.

Here's the ad, its in English:

Is it just me or are Nacra-F18s incredibly cheap compared to Tigers?

The main sail is made from a new seamless material (max)

Maxx, seamless?? Got to be rubbish. I guess the seams are hidden behind the batten pockets..

Hi Rolf -

Yeh - the new MaxX material is being used to make horizontal-cut panels, doing away with the tri-radial cuts and the vertical seams that go with them. Because the thread in the cloth already goes in all directions, there's no need for radial panels. Suposedly, this makes for a very clean-looking sail... seamless? Of course not, but far fewer seams (as you said, along batten pockets) and no vertical seams. Haven't seen one in action, but scuttlebutt from Worlds was positive in nature.
