[#12336]

Hi

I really want to buy a cat but have the problem that I have limited storage space. I will have to put it onto a trailer but need the trailer to only be about 1.8 - 2 meters wide. I could disassemble the cat each time but I would like to avoid this (wear and tear, time, etc...). I was wondering about building a trailer that the cat will be tilted up but am not sure if it would work. Has anyone seen or got something like this that they could send pictures or plans to me?

Many thanks
Michael

You could build a tilt trailer like they use on the extra wide 18 squares. Here's a webpage that has some details.

But even tilt trailers are usually 8.5 feet wide. He needs a trailer no more than 6.5 feet wide. That would be a really high tilt, wouldn't it -- even for a small cat?

Now that I think about it, maybe that IS possible for smaller boats. I had never thought about it before in terms of boats that are trailerable width.

Sorry, should have told you what cat I am looking at. I would ideally like a Hobie FX one or a 18SX so they are not as wide as a Tiger or Tornado.

I think the Tiger is only six inches wider than the SX; unimportant width for what you're looking at.

yeah - but the wheel base would have to be so incredibly thin on the trailer...that would make me nervous with a boat strung high in the air. Those 18square tilt trailers move their wheels all the way outboard don't they?
