upgrading tiger rudders

I did that conversion on my Tiger. Was dead easy - had to drill 2 holes per gudgeon casting (4 of the 6 bolted straight up). Just a word of warning, check the bolts/nuts are tight periodically, one of mine worked loose and allowed the gudgeon casting to move ever so slightly which was enough to end in catastrophe at the worst possible moment. I epoxied the bolts in with the repair and have had no problems since <img src="<>/smile.gif" alt="smile" title="smile" height="15" width="15" />

I had no problem installing the rudders. You need the new gudgeons to allow the rudders a bit more room. I like the set up but have heard from others that they see no difference. I thought it was much easier to sail.
My boat with the newer rudders are owned by Benj in Canada. If you need to see it working you can take a look at his boat if you are at a regatta with him soon.
As I remember it took several times on the boat to get the rudders exactly right, but it was easier to balance than the old rudders, for me.
Later,
Dan

Is there ever a best possible moment for catastrophe? <img src="<>/smile.gif" alt="smile" title="smile" height="15" width="15" />
Normal club race: No biggee.
When doing well in a State championship: Major annoyance!
