My name is Brandon and im looking into buying a F-18 (preferably a Nacra). I can not find one located anywhere near me. I live in Redondo Beach, CA near Los Angeles. I will buy one from anywhere on the west coast.

Thanks,
Brandon Folkman

I know it sounds like catameran but its really a catamaran <img src="<>/smile.gif" alt="smile" title="smile" height="15" width="15" />

might help to know what budget you have in mind, whether your looking at the old or new nacra...

have you visited the yacht clubs that are sailing f18's in your area??

I ask when you want it because if you come to ABYC in Long Beach the second week of September, there will be a LOT of boats for sale.

No matter how hard I try I always seem to mispell catamaran. I am not sure if I'd rather buy the old nacra or the new one but since the old one is normally cheeper I'll probably go for that. I have no idea how much these boats go for because I normally sail monohauls (mostly dingys), but I'm looking for a boat in good condition and for a reasonable price. I will try to look at other yacht clubs, and I'll try to get down to ABYC the second week of September. Thanks guys for all your help.

that will give you an idea of prices.... if your not sure what your looking at then the older boat will be great to learn on!

I know of one in the Santa Barbara area. He has thought about selling but if you are really interested I will talk to him and see his real level of interest. It is a Nacra F18, not Infusion. How does somewhere around $5000 sound? no trailer though.

I don't want to spend more than 9,000 on it but I'd like to get one with a trailer. Do you know how much trailers cost because if they're cheap I might be interested in your friend's catameran. Only problem is it could be a few months before I can actually buy one I'm still trying to maybe get my friend to buy half.

A brand new trailer is about $1500 for an anodized one. You could probably find a used one for about $1000. The catbox for sail storage is extra.

I might have lead on a basically new cat trailer. No box. Private message me on this sight.

Check Craig's List for an old beater catamaran on a trailer. Billy Webster out of King Harbor just bought an F18, then went and got a trashed Sol Cat on a galvanized trailer for $200. He donated the Sol Cat somewhere, put $25 into lights and he's all set.

Craig's list, search San Diego! I can no longer find the guys information however he frequently post listings for used cat tailors with and some without boats attached. Like John said, I got a galvanized trailer for about ~$300 and only put in maybe $50 for odds and ends.

Good luck!
Billy Webster
