Have any Hobie 20 owners added additional ports to dry out the hulls? There's a poster on the Hobie forum http://www.hobiecat.com/community/ that wants to but the IHCA says adding them violates Hobie General Rule 4, the loophole rule. It is legal for the Wave, 14, 16 and 17.

If you have added them, where did you place the port?

I added them between the dagger trunk and the forebeam. Start by using a door knob style hole saw being care to to miss any vertical supports then look inside to see how much room you have on either side of the hole.

I have added ports. Are you still sailing on Maui. We have quite the Miracle 20 fleet here on Oahu. You can see my repairs on my home page at

Review my postings on the HHCA forum about the repairs.

Nice work on the repairs.

I am sailing but lately it's been on an Olson 30. There just isn't much multihull action here. I'm trying to dig up a good crew so I can race in the YC regattas.
