Do Noisy Rudders come as standard on Inters
Hi
I recently bought an Inter 20 and seem to be having problems once again with noisy rudders. (I had it occasionally on the I18 as welll). I have been through the usual process of aligning the rudders and adjusting the trailing edge of the foils, which has worked to a certain degree but it still happens off the wind. Is this standard for the Inters and something I should just put up with or has somebody worked out a magic cure for this problem. Its like the 2 parts of the rudderstock are vibrating against each other.
Does anybody else have this?

Hi Mark
Sounds like your half way there on the filing , pay close attention to fairing in the trailing edge all the way up past the waterline and to the very base ,
Hobies and all mfg boats require this type of rudder tuning and filing ,--
where do you sail ,with which fleet -
thanks

Just to let you know!
I made one last effort to get rid of the ever annoying buzzing rudders with a lot of attention to filing the trailing edge of the blades. This combined with some horizontal and vertical allignment resulted in zero noise at any point of sailing. Great! I can now talk to my crew again in a Force 6. In fact the only buzzing I hear now is the turbulent breeze tickling the trailing edge of the mainsail leech which is music to my ears.
Cheers
