What are the specifics? I have seen posts where the T's with spins are included with the I20s etc. Is it just LOA? If the Ts are included are the SC20s?

Yes, I believe that is the trend right now. Time will tell if people think the boats are about the same performance and worth racing boat for boat. (Personally, I believe that a rating system will prove to be fairer in the long run.) For instance, a Dart Hawk or an INter 18 or Mystere 5.5 are not up to speed in the F18 class. I think a rating system will extend the racing life of those boats for sailors who get into the sport for cheap.

It seems local clubs and fleets are starting Formula groups for fun and of necessity to race 20s easily together.
Rules vary to accomodate local sailors needs and requirements . I roughed in some basic parameters years earlier ,---Viewing forum: Formula 20 Forum---
Would agree on 20 ft category race groups with slight variation in rating ,-but based in a design measurement rating that directly related sail area -weight and beam ,variables . Wouter recently published a rating version with 2 wind speeds ,-I think combining this with Pn yardstick would be the ideal rating system that would encourage similar length race groups to develop ,many then would over time modify into equal race types built by numerous builders and modified to individual preferences .
In other words ,-I,m really not sure what the #$@% the very best answer is 
--It seems to be being desided by local sailing groups of 20s as it should be .
- happy to see em and help them develop if possible .
The sport certainly has not developed under current classes or rating rules .

i offered a formula that took into loa,beam,total weight including crew, and height of crew but Darlene didn't present it.
I recall the thread about boat weight along time ago but on my 22 it didn't make much difference on back to back sails within 90 minutes. SO I really think the simpler the better. Of course light boats accelerate better but heavier boats are harder to slow down. It basically comes down to waterline, total boat weight, beam width and sail area. If the major filtering factor is loa then the rest should be adaptable.
With the decline in catsailing over the past years; it seems to me that more open regattas would be benefical to the sport if there were a variety of cats sailing. If they all look alike its kind of boring to me...
Besides I just follow everybody else anyway...
