mast height and sail area as compared to 18 h t

The 18 ht has a max 10.5 meter mast hgt , a little over 34 ft ,--current I-20 mast is 32 as are proposed rules . 18hts also have a 20 sq meter main sail inc mast area , approx 215 sq ft ,current oF-20 are prop. at 210 .but of course has the added jib area of 53 to 60 or more sq ft the 18 does not have along with larger shute by some 55 to 85 sq ft or more.

question = should the o F -20 Class adopt the same max mast height of 34 and mainsail area 215 as the 18 ht,

-The advantage would be more readily available masts and sails for adaptation to existing 20s .

On the other hand , many may deside 32 or less is optimal through a wider variety of windstrengths ,
