Dear Sailor,
After many successful years building A-Cats, scheurer will start a new exiting project.
The new Beaver 20HT is based on the very fast Scheurer A-Cat G5 .

Highlights:
Curved dagger boards
Bow rails

Awesome looking boat, but who the heck is going to fork over 38k USD for one? Marstrom can't seem to sell many M20's for the price, and they at least have an existing class. 140 lbs lighter than a Nacra 20=faster and easier to move on the beach...

aren't the curved beams expensive? What advantage do the curved beams have?

And why not carbon instead of Aluminum. I expect the curved beams are for looks, it does look sexy.
Also looks like a severe lack of buoyancy in the stern.

Wouldn't there be a bit less twist between the two hulls if the beams are going into the hull at an angle like that? Chances are its just an designers wet dream, but maybe there is a reason behind it, and it does look cool.

The reason I started sailing catamarans is because I wanted to go fast without having another

car payment

.

I agree, but, technology has its costs. A few more thousand for the next step up is generally worth it. $38k, out of the question but to step up a few $$ from an I20 is a different story.

Actually the boat is planned to sell for 40k CHF. But they will have at least 6 orders before they start. Greetings from Switzerland. ( http://www.18ht.ch - forum.18ht.ch).

In Vegas you can find new Beaver for a few hundred.....

I guess they are going after the M-20.
