The Nacra/Inter 20...will the US see an Alum. mast?

What the subject says. Will it be an advantage for sail trim? Obviously cost and replacement cost will be a +.

B.C. told me @ Nacra NA's in 09, that he felt his aluminum mast on his I17 was an advantage for sail trim, in puffs, etc.

Your views?

The aluminum mast has already come to the US for the NACRA 20 and first hand accounts do say its faster. Could have been the sailor though.

Key Sailing has an AL mast. i'm convinced fast is a relative term. one blown tack or a bad spin set can compensate for 7/10ths of a percent increase in speed. i blow lots of tacks. i recommend not getting hung up on the AL mast. i don't know.... whatever
