Hello,

Would a Tornado mainsail fly without major recutting on a F20 tube (of the correct length) or would differences in stiffness make this a horrible idea?

Kind regards

I believe that the mast bend characteristics of the N20 carbon mast would not be compatible with a Tornado main suited for an aluminum mast

It would not be flying as it should. Luff curves are specific to the flex characteristics of the spar...even within the T class sails cut for the old soft rig masts would never be used on the prebend alu masts and alu-prebend cut mains were never used on carbon prebend masts.
Plus the I20 main is a different(larger?) size then the T. If you just want to putt around the harbor...go for it but it will not perform as most would want.

Now that 3 races have passed, or 2 (heard sea bouy was rained out) 70-640 what modifications if any have been done to Nacra 20s for this class?
