I was there when Pete,Farrier, Austrailian Builder were putting the boat together in Houston. When I saw the rudder then I thought the blade was similar [but not the same] to mine that was a year old at the time. Its a proven design and works quite well. See my rudder below... Mine 42" extended under the boat [F25c] and works well in high winds. You need all the length you can get on mine because the main hull flies like a lazy beach cat...

well I'm stoked about the possibility of ease of replacement for my originally-a-Supercat-daggerboard dagger rudder should we break it. I was WAY not looking forward to having to deal with a custom rebuild 'cause I don't have Dub (and Tommy) Granger's gift for 'glass

I think theres a guy with two daggers for sale on the Aquarius site. [I have two sets of stock fiberglass daggers in good shape. $400+shipping a pair. I'll include custom carrying bags, too. Dan 757-589-6920] Might make great cores for your system.

Anyway shouldn't the housing tear before the beefed up rudder breaks?? If it does tear just add epoxy, glass, and paint...all these boats are is epoxy, core, glass, and paint{;<]===

I believe the board is carbon fibre, tho'. My worry is that in our shallow waters I'll either just slam something or not pull the thing up enough.

I suppose anything could happen... we had the dagger/centerboard break outright at the Nats this year. (we weren't even racing at the time - it just failed catastrophically) Bless Don Wigston and Jim Chambers, who arranged for us to replace it with an F28 board.

Carbon or not if the original shape is a Supercat board you need a core to wrap the carbon around to vacuum bag. It beats having a cnc core made. Good Luck
