Since this is already posted on this site's Classified section, I'd thought I point out that the highly modded F31r Tri Cheekee Monkee is now on ebay. She's got lifting Bruce foils in the ama's, ala ORMA60 style. literally $100's of K's of upgrades/design changes. She's worth $500k+.

Last I checked she had a bid of $60k....there is NO RESERVE on this auction...owner does not care to make back his investment

A great ride for the right buyer(s).

Cheekee

I sailed on her at the San Diego NOOD and one other event.., fine boat. That was the first time I had ever seen line for side stays.
Wish I had the money to bid on it.

I'm GLAD you don't have the money to bid on it!

Why is that?

My family would happily come for a daysail on a de-tuned Cheekee, but not on the Tornado. While I could race it full on with a crew.

I sailed in the same class at the 2001 Nationals. All those go fast items do make the boat faster but does it translate into a handicap that will allow you to win. We placed ahead of that boat overall because of those items on that boat requiring a handicap due to our boat being stock.

He put some money and modifications into that boat to end up selling it for less than a stock 95 F31 would normally bring.

I hope the new F35c coming out will be better received by the ultra racer...

She sold for a mere $76,100...what a prize for the winner! The guy selling her was obviously not interested in making his money back, or even close to that! If you read the full Ebay desc., he clearly states why he put her up as a no-reserve item...wanted her to go to someone who'd keep racing/developing her. Must be nice to be in the "money is no concern" position...

Mike.

I heard a rumor that the boat is once again going on sale! Apparently the buyer want to turn a fast buck and has put it on the market for ~10k more than what he paid...

Damn, don't you hate that when someone trys to profit off of someone else? I say offer him $50K just to bring him down to earth!
