Dear Racers:
The 2007 Land Rover Island Series begins on May 19th with the Hardway Race. Pierpont Bay Yacht Club and Santa Barbara Sailing Club co-host this popular race which has several different courses to choose from. PBYC is a tad late getting the Series NOR mailed, so we want to remind you all to watch your mailboxes starting the end of next week for the Series package. Since the Santa Barbara Harbor
Master has us on a short string regarding assignment of guest slips, we urge you to respond as soon as you receive your NOR.
The Hardway Race starts in Santa Barbara. From there, the more adventurous can choose to round Santa Cruz Island before finishing; there's an inside spinnaker course; the ORCAs round Anacapa instead of Santa Cruz; and the non-spinnaker entries and the beach cats sail a shorter inside course.
Yes, all 3 races are open to ORCA multihulls and beach cats.
The other two races in the Series are the Milt Ingram Trophy Race on July 14th and the Tri-point Ocean Race on August 25th. Both use Anacapa Island as a mark of the course; Milt's race takes it to port; the Tri-point takes it to starboard.
Please pass this message to friends who might not be on our mail
list. Thank you.

Thanks for bringing this up again Mike. I had posted the NOR for this back in March (message #101328 - 03/14/07 04:59 PM)- I am certian we will get the five pre-entrants to secure a beachcats class for this year. Counting you, Mitch, and myself this makes three so far.
Maybe we can get a few sailors form Northern CA and San Diego to compete as well.
