THe 18 was once the "AVIS" of the Hobie Fleets, and still big. It was the rage for anyone that wanted a big class and still have a boat that sailed well -- you know, daggerboards, etc.
SOrry to say the class is pretty much gone now. I know there are many folks out there that could give you some good advice, if they would only draw upon their memories of the '80s
