1st. and only cat group forming in West Virginia !
As a one time west coaster, I now find myself in a wonderful state .. West Virginia ! only thing is, no one here sails ! I have found two people that always wanted to learn. Thats where we started..if you live here or know of anyone in WV that wants to learn, feel free to contact me. we are starting a fleet on Blue Stone and Summersville lakes.

Bob,
They're there....you just haven't found them yet. Stay tuned to www.EMSA-Sailing.org and our schedule should be up soon that includes a couple of events in Virginia.
Bob,
Have you been in Summersville long? I'm actually looking for property up that way ... wondering if you might point me in the right direction.
BTW, Summersville lake is incredibly beautiful. With the high bluffs and cliffs how are the wind conditions down near the water for sailing?

tback,
thx for the replys. As for property in and around SV Lake, its getting very pricy ! I wish I could give you a name of a good realtor.. I did see 20acs. overlooking the lake just off wv19. sailing SVL is like most mt. lakes..good on some days, bad on others, but always clear and clean. We have an island just off the main ramp that makes for a great cat beach and I have a 25' pontoon for a commitee boat.the folks here (park rangers) are very accommodaiting .Jake, I found the EMSA site and will track the events..perhaps I can make 2 or 3 in 08. I now sail Sea Sprays if we are welcomed..
Oh no, the Sea Spray contagion has spread to the East Coast!
You mid-Atlantic guys ought to set up a quarantine around West Virginia, those things multiply like fruit-flys. You should immediatly impound all supplies of irrigation pipe, spit and baleing twine - that's all they need to make those wretched things.
Also, begin lobbying the Portsmouth Committee to get their handicap lowered.

You are absolutely welcome to join in!
Sandy and I will be in grass valley, ca. over christmas and new years.. I had hoped to get over the mt. and see mark harris. however, a trip to medford, or and on to la. ca. will likley make that imposible.. I see from the 07 results that u had a good year on the water. u have come a long way in sailing....well done.
I remember that area of WV. I crashed there flying a Piper Comanche in the late 60's.
An old farmer with a great-looking daughter wanted me to stay overnight, but the State Patrol would have none of that. I wonder why.
Anyway, I survived. It didn't look that beautiful to me as I was heading for the ground rapidly.., looked like a place that you could only lean against -- very mountainous.
We love driving on I-77 each year going between Key Largo and Put-in-Bay, Ohio. Beautiful state.
Rick
well mr. white, as a pilot myself, I can only imagine trying a emergency landing in these hills...if you ever find yourself in or near Rainelle, please know that you would be most welcomed at the richards farm where you can fish, hunt, raft, attempt a short field landing, and sail.
btw, I have recived the most positive feed back from this
group. many thx boys..
