In the 2007 North American Hobie Cat Association ratings, Will Nelson and Dan Tarleton are tied for 1st place, Wave Class. Our youth are the future of multihull racing.

(need to redirect our energy back to what is important)

Ya Caleb, we need more details and a fuller report! Don't tease us like that! Are us 448 guys the only interested parties?

OK, no big deal, just trying to divert some of the rage over the 2012 decision.
Will and Dan are both graduates of many of the classes at Sail Sand Point in Seattle. www.sailsandpoint.org. They are both veteran Wave sailors, and currently are tied for first in the NAHCA National points listing. see http://www.hcana.hobieclass.com/default.asp?Page=7220&MenuID=Rankings/10818/0/ If you do race a Hobie Cat, you can check where you stand in the National standings.

Peter Nelson, Will's dad is 9th out of 379 on the H-16. He was also 10th out of 38 in the H-16 Worlds, Masters Division, plus scored a bullet in this event. Will is also 63rd in the ratings, crewing with Jay Rosebach on a H-16. Son Tom is 31 out of 75 on the H-17, would be higher, but could only get to two regattas, working overtime at Boeing on the 787. And grandpaw has a lot of room to improve, 23 of 75 on the H-17.

But the point is, that Will and Dan are the future of Multihull sailing. They may never go to the Olympics, but then how many of us do aspire to that goal?
