2015 Florida 300/Dogfight

May 12 - setup, Islander Resort, Islamorada
Race Day 1, May 13 – Islamorada, FL to Key Biscayne;
Race Day 2, May 14 – Key Biscayne to Singer Island;
Race Day 3, May 15 – Singer Island to Vero Beach, FL;
Race Day 4, May 16 – Vero Beach FL to Cocoa Beach, FL .

The “Dogfight”, will be the last day of the Florida 300. It will include a separate start for all beach type catamarans up to 22 feet for a race from Vero Beach to Cocoa Beach, a run of about 50 miles. All are welcome to join in the fun. Awards to be Presented.

I like that schedule much better. Little mini vaca in the keys before the sail up the coast begins.

oh, snap. He is hooked! I guess this means I'm going to have to put matching graphics on the port side of my sails.

Though I do like the mini-vacation in the keys, that means I need to break the boat down after finishing on Saturday so I can spend all day driving back home Sunday. That's going to cut into our team party time on Saturday :-(.

I agree the schedule does look more attractive to me. Seems to make the dogfight much more practical for someone to do that as well.

That is a good point - I hadn't consider how that affects the dogfight. That's probably the only way to get any significant attendance as relatively few people will take a day off work in the middle of the week for a one day run. So...with that in mind, it does make sense.
