Please feel free to come and have a beer with us on your way to Tradwinds.

Happy holidays everyone,

Well if you haven’t been keeping track the first of the A cat winter tour events is now only two weeks away. Thanks to those of you who have pre registered, we now have confirmed entries from as far away as California, Texas, Missouri, Rhode Island and lots in between, even the Swedes are coming. With those pre registered combined with those that have verbally committed we should see 35 + boats on the start line!

Click here for current entry list. https://event-manager.compete-at.com/Manager/event/entryList.do?eid=784

On the Thursday the 15th Jan after sailing we are going to have a informal trash and treasure over a few beers, so open your tool boxes sell, swap, barter and trade sails, batten sets, carbon bits and pieces anything you may have that you no longer use that may be of use to someone else.

For those who would like to make the most of this first event. Robbie Daniels will also be available for private or group coaching sessions prior to the event or on the lay day. Robbie is a great coach for all levels and would be happy to set an appropriate format to cater for either individuals or a group of A caters. If you are interested please contact Robbie or Jill on 727 793 8743 to set a schedule.

(please note that after Monday the 5th the entry fee for the two Coconut Grove sails events at the Islander will increase by 15$ so get your entries ASAP. Registration is simple and easy to do online just click on this link. https://event-manager.compete-at.com/Manager/event/home.do?eid=784

Tomorrow I will be posting a short video on the photo section of the Admirals Cup website that will give you a glimpse of the amazing sailing location at Ben H’s place in Bokeelia. https://event-manager.compete-at.com/Manager/club/home.do?clubcntxt=USACA

BTW, those that require storage in the St Pete Tampa area in between events please send me an email to discuss the options.

For those that are on the fence for any of the A cat winter events we understand that there is a lot of snow on one side and white sand, warm water and Palm trees on the other!

Safe Travels

For the A-Cat events and Tradewinds I have heard there are really good rates at Holiday Isle. Close to both events.
Rates should be low as right after the New Years Weekend there is a window of off season.

Just incase you do not know, Cheeca Lodge main building burned last week. It has an impact on room availability all over, If no rooms reserved yet, better get em in a hurry. Cheeca is three months from recovery of any seblance of recovery and at least a year for rebuild.

I'd be curious that since it burned down if they will be able to:
1) even rebuild the place (maybe it's been rezoned since originally built)
2) have to put it on stilts or something (dramatically increasing reconstruction costs - possibly making it unable to rebuild)
3) have all kinds of new environmental regulations (making it too costly)
