Adjustable trapeze set up.
When I am trapezing upwind I have the trapeze length set for optimum
( so I can line up both hulls across the boat )
BUT when the wind increases and I am trapping from behind the rear beam I am sailing too high on the boat so reducing control or heeling moment or does that not matter.??
Is it worth the extra spaghetti to make the lines longer??
Cheers

A dogbone should give you enough adjustment:
Go the good stuff.
Buy complete adjustable dyneema trap wire set ups here. Let them know length of trap line required. - http:/

You can buy the same kit at Hobiecat Holland's webshop for a lot cheaper.
The aluminum set goes for €67.5 a piece, still a lot cheaper than Marstrom.

I LOVE my adjustable setup.
It does not cause any extra clutter... but it does leave my dog bones (actually loops) extra slack to flap around. Because of that i have put a plastic clip on the end of my bungee to secure them
Benefits:
i can lower myself (and hike harder) when there is good wind.
I can raise myself in lighter air when (I can save myself from being t-baged in a lull)
I can raise myself when a big wave is coming at me..
I can adjust the slack so I can sit on the tramp (at almost any part of the tramp) attached prior to getting on the wire and tighten the slack to ensure I don’t disconnect while getting out on the wire.
I built my own system and will try to find a picture of it
Hey Dazz,
if we were trapping low and could not reach the handle, we would just grab the rope above the Marstrom carbon pulley and lift ourself up.
My crew was very tall and that was set up for him. My set up was just out of reach when fully down so had to grab as mentioned above. If you make up new trap lines, make them a little bit longer and take away some of the top end adjustment as you dont tend to use that much.

So, what is perfect height for the handle. On my old Drat 18 it was perfect, because I had never to think about the height, unfortunately I didn't measure the height. With my new boat I found the handles to low to go back on the tramp fast. Now I have it about 1m above the deck. It feels unusual but good.
Cheers,
Klaus
