Its obviously a North Korean plot to get as many people as possible into Australia before sending off another one of their experimental nukes in that general direction...

Yes I just checked the stamp on the bottom and it says Aug 09, however surely given that we're in winter we could make it stretch for another week. You just need to wipe the fluffy bits of the top.

I've always wanted to try my hand at this Aussie rhyming slang thing.

Like,

Hey, go talk to my trouble 'n' strife (wife) about that.

Or,

Good Lord, my trouble and strife (wife) just called my on the Al Capone (phone) and told me to the hit the frog and toad (road).

Basically, rhyming slang is the use of usually two or more words, the last of which rhymes with the intended word. But there are variations.

The most common variation is to drop the rhyming word altogether... Sometimes when the rhyming word is dropped, the remaining word takes on a plural form for no logical reason.

A third step is to abbreviate (or corrupt) the first word, so that not only is the rhyming word gone but the first word in the phrase is corrupted. Hence, seppo for American.

So, how about I go to Aussie to get a heart throb (job) before it gets shut down in August by the vampires (expires).

No? Didn't think so...
