I've been keeping an eye out for the best books on sailing catamaran's and have seen quite a few.

What do you guys have in your home libraries? What's been the most useful?

Assuming your talking about racing (this is not an attempt to glorify the site owner)

Catamaran Racing for the 90's

ala Rick White and Mary Wells has so much information that it can't possibly absorbed by a single reading. I've probably read it three times cover to cover and I keep finding new things every time.

Hello world,

Does Rick Whites' book cover wing masts like A classes or T 4.9 etc. As most books I've found in Aust, are written in the seventies and are about predominately H16's

Cheers

Ant.

Guess I have to respond. No! Not precisely on wing masts, although you are not talking about wing masts either -- rather about a mast with a large major axis. And that is addressed quite deeply in

Catamaran Racing: For the 90s

My apologies to the

The U.S. Price is $29.95 for all our books. The Videos we do have in PAL format and are a little extra. Shipping is fairly reasonable, if you order from our Store Front. At any rate, they are available on this web site.

Also, we have had two distributors in Australia, but they have not ordered any books for a while. They Are:

Boat Books Pty Ltd, 31 Albany St. Crows Nest, NSW 2065

tel 02 9439 1133, fax 02 9439 8517

Ron Wiggins, Sports Books Australia, 23 Palm Tree Drive, Safety Beach, Victoria, Australia 3936

te 015-889075, fax 03-95641795

Good luck,

Rick White

I've read Rick's book twice now. It's great, but I had the incredible fortune to go to one of his Sailing seminars where he fills in the knowledge gaps, and answers the specific questions YOU have which might not be explained for each individual's boat or situation in the book. Was the best sailing instruction and experience anyone could dream of. Would have taken me 4 or 5 years to MAYBE get to the performance level I've achieved in the few months since his Seminar. Buy the book, or any other, but you can't learn to sail from a book and get nearly as much out of it as you can by attending one of the seminars. Thanks again Rick, has made all the difference.

Also, be sure to get AND USE Rick's

Sailing Drills

book. This will ramp up your experience and understanding way, way more than just reading about and trying it on an irregular basis.
