Not cold if you dress for it. More fun than sailing on water and you don't get sea sick. Really, I have Ice boated on a DN. If you ever get the chance...take it. There is a reason people keep these for just a few rides in a winter.

I am sure they are fun, but i cant imagine it being

more fun than sailing on water

!

Can you fly a hull and soar with with raptors (Osprey), get close to pelicans sailing 8 inches above the water surface, swim with dolphins? Look down and see a flock of migrating Leopard Rays under you?

With the exception of flying a hull, I can't do any of that here anyway.:)

I keep wanting to build an iceboat. The look like they're a hoot.

Why couldn't you fly the 'runner/ski'?

I've sailed a 2-person, 3 wheeled cart ( a homebuilt) on the beach in Cocoa Beach. It had a hobie 16 dacron rig, and steered with the front wheel. You could fly a side 'wheel'!

You fly the runners on a DN.

DN iceboats are really cool, I've done it and there is nothing like the acceleration, think sport bike but you are lying down on a skateboard.

And the first time I went I was overdressed and hot. The helmet keeps your head warm, the rest of the dress is like you are going skiing.

I wouldnt want to go through the ice.
