Broken daggerboard Hobie Wildcat 2010
Recently we have bought a 2010 Wildat. Last weekend we took it out for sailing for the third time. When we were using the spinnaker with 12 knots of wind, we met a rather large wave, which completely broke off our daggerboard, directly below the hull.
We were sailing the board like 40cm up, while the tuning guide even states to pull it only 20cm up. In the meantime I've heard similar stories from other sailors.
Is this normal? If the boards cannot handle these conditions why put it in a tuning guide like this? Does anybody know which heights are save? Otherwise it becomes an expensive
