[#27198]

Looks like this year the stars aligned and the Buzzelli Multihull Rendezvous does not conflict with any other major events. The usual Corsair, Stiletto and Open fleets are sure to be there. How about an F-18 group? Or all those f-16's and A cats?

I have an I 20 down there I'd charter or lend, as I will most likely be on a stiletto.

Oct 22-24 at the Sarasota Sailing Squadron. This is a fantastic event that gets better every year.

Make some noise on this thread if you are interested and we'll make sure there is enough BEER for everyone!

My skipper will probably bring the Stiletto 27

Inflight

up again from Punta Gorda.

Hopefully a good breeze again without all of the drama.

Jack

Personally, I'm game for most anything but try and find out what kind of course they're offering. Some of these guys like distance stuff, some prefer triangles.

the way they do it is distance race on friday is a scored race for the stilettos
(usually its from new pass to the venice jetty and back)and optional for other classes. then saturday and sunday is around the cans ( mostle windward leewards) in the bay. big party on sunday.....Its usually ptretty exciting. We tend to have big breeze that time of year....

Buzzelli Multihull Rendezvous with Stiletto Nationals: October 22-24, 2010

The Sarasota Sailing Squadron is hosting the 4th annual Buzzelli Multihull Rendezvous with Stiletto Nationals, which will take place at the Squadron in Sarasota, Florida on Oct. 22, 23, and 24.

This event is open to all Multihull sailboats and will be governed by the US Sailing rules. The 3-day racing event will start on Friday with a long distance race optional for all, except the Stiletto Nationals. The awards ceremony will be on Sunday at the end of the last race day. Courses will be on Sarasota Bay and the Gulf of Mexico, weather dependent.

Besides the usual suspects of Corsairs and Stilettos, we also expect some other hot boats to show up: Vipers, F 18s, Hobie Cats and Hobie Waves, A-Cats, and Prindles. Growing the fleet to possibly 55 boats but that is with quite a few questions remaining.

Will Merlin be sailing? will someone put a rig on Bob's Legacy aka Fetish and sail her in Bob Buzzelli's name? will Deuce Coupe show up?who'll be sailing Swim Mart? with what boats will Kathryn and Paul Garlick show up this time? will the illusive Randy Smyth show this year? will Charlie Barmonde bring trophies? who will get the perpetual trophy? but most importantly, when will the pizza arrive?

It'll be a good time.

We are thinking more food on Friday night and less loud entertainment on Saturday. Let me know what you would like and we'll do what we can to make this your best Buzzelli Multihull Rendezvous ever.

For complimentary camping, docking, launching, and parking at the Squadron call the Squadron at 941-388-2355.

Find NOR at : www.sarasotasailingsquadron.org.

Nana Bosma,

Buzzelli Multihull Rendezvous Regatta Chair

>>

Call any time.

Sincerely,

Capt. Nana Bosma

And Yes, I'll be making trophies you can drink out of or eat on, or both in the case of beer, or as I like to call it, sandwich in a glass (or stein as the case may be)

Guess I'll just register on site.

I'm in as well so add me to the list.

I could use crew for the Friday event, or all weekend, if anyone is interested.

Jack: I already contacted them, they're looking.

I'm just trying to make Tad feel bad for stealing my crew and for not being a manly-man. I think he's a-skeered of bugs.

Tad: if you're worried about money now, wait 'til your honey discovers St. Armands Circle and that area.

Thanks. But, I'm 230 and the max. weight I'm willing to race with is 350. If you're much over 120, I'm better off solo.

If you're just looking for a ride, that's a whole different matter. We'd be cruising, not racing. <img src="<>/laugh.gif" alt="laugh" title="laugh" height="15" width="15" />
