[#14823]

I'm petitioning HCA for a small change to the H-20 rigging and I'm looking for some feedback from everyone who would be affected.

The suggested change is as follows: I would like to mount a pivoting guide eye and cam cleat on the rear crossbar for sheeting the traveler. The setup would be similar to that found on the H-16, Getaway, Inter 20 and lots of other boats. I've gotten feedback from Jeff Alter and had IHCA give me a ruling, which said I needed support from HCA and ultimately the bulk of H-20 sailors before they would sanction a change.

The advantages are many and the disadvantages few, but I'd like to hear what everyone else thinks.

If you were to send your proposal to the officers of the HCA we could help you with this.
We have the means to get in touch with the entire class through our newsletter and our class wide e-mail list. You’re not going to get a very true cross section of Hobie 20 sailors through the Catsailor forum.

Thanks, Bob, I intend to contact HCA directly. I know only a portion of H20 sailors will respond here, but I wanted to get more feedback before proceeding. The change I'm suggesting is small, but I don't want to create a hassle for HCA if I don't see some support at least on this limited basis.

A special poll has been set up on the Hobie Community Forums to solicit feedback on the traveller change proposal.

Go here to voice your opinion on this.

The full text of the proposal and photos of the proposed change are posted.
