Who's gonna make it to the Camp Hatteras regatta and what are you sailing?

I'm trying to decide between the I-20 and the A.

I'm the Fayetteville dude. I'm really hoping to make it. I'll be soloing a 16. Do we have enough for a single-handed 16 class? I really feel obligated to go as I was on my way last year for it to be my first regatta when my POS Taurus blew it's transmission. Time for some personal redemtion.

I can bring additional experienced crew. They are both good on the 18 and would quickly adjust to 16 sailing. I cannot single hand my 18 unless I leave the spin off, but thats an option. I will definately be there!

What's are the specs on your crew?

Looks like Loyd will also be coming. We may bring 2 H16s, instead of the F18. My daughters want to crew and it looks like this will be a big H16 event. If the conditions are not too bad, my 12 year old daughter may crew with him and let my 8 year old daughter crew for me. But if it's going to blow, I may have to resend the offer of my oldest daughter and Loyd may need a crew. (Did that sound weird... He did say he would give me a goat for her)

I'm not going to make it after all. After some careful thinking I'm going to have to hold off. I'm starting my first year of teaching with my own class the Monday after the regatta. Sailing + Driving + getting to bed late might not be the best idea. I'm going to try and make the version regatta.

AAaaaahhhh....some well needed rain and not in some form that will cause too much massive destruction. Our upper corner of South Cackalackie is about 12 inches behind in total rainfall this year. Lake Hartwell is paying the price and is down about 13 feet.

Forecast is calling for about 10 kts each day, 30% chance of rain and temp in the low 80's.

It should be a great weekend for sailing.

Probably about 10+ hours . They're having the Version 2.? regatta in the Ches. Bay that weekend. I was planning on doing that with the MAN himself, Jamie Livingston, but it didn't work out.I've got 7 weekends of racing lined up so I may just take that one off. Good luck at the Rudder club sounds like fun. Hope to see ya sometime before the next Tybee.
