Who makes a good cat cover for mast up storage? Any place in the Los Angeles area that can come out and take the measurements on a Tornado with spinny pole?

How long do the cheaper materials hold up in the CA sun?

Mike.

I have an old cover made by skip elliot for a Tornado. He probably still has the pattern. His cover was top of the line and superb . I modified it for the spin by putting zippers down the bow stem for the pole forguys and tabs.. It uses velcro straps to wrap under the hull and attach to the other side.

One final feature you have to consider is where you have your rotation arm. If it's above the boom (traditional) no problem. If it's on the mast base, then the cover must accomodate the support line.

I just use a blue poly tarp for the spin snuffer head and bag.

I wind up detaching my pole for guys so that I don't permanantly bend my spin pole by keeping it loaded up. I use the halyard to support the pole tip from any kids who would lean on it.

If you plan to keep the boat on a trailer, you might have a different problem.

Take Care

I had one made last spring. I wanted a 1 piece blue poly cover like my old one. I couldn't find anyone in the USA because they are not stocking the wide blue poly material.

I ended up having Goodall in Australia make it. It is made of white poly and has zippers to handle the spin pole stays on the new rig. The price was reasonable.
