Has anyone here shipped a cat to another country? I know this guy, and he wants to send a Nacra 20 to St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands in late March (round trip). Any recommended companies, methods, or contacts I could talk to?

Right...you guys nailed that one on the head. I don't think Wout could bring himself low enough to sail on a Nacra 20. Anyways, he has to keep up with all the newest fads. <img src=

Seriously, I need shipping advicefrom US to St. Thomas and back. I'm just going to charter a Nacra 20 in Europe.

Are you saying that Nacra20 sailors are low lives? Low class? Low quality? <img src=

St Thomas is a US territory, under an American flag. When I lived there I purchased a few P-16 and 3 G-cats. It was normal shipping procedures from either Florida or California. All of the boats that I shipped were new so the came boxed and ready for shipping. If you could get some hull boxes from your local Nacra dealer, that would be the easy way.

What is the cost for chartering the 20? Are you getting it from Nacra Europe? I am really interested in doing this as well, maybe not this year though.

If you can disassemble and box everything it'll be cheaper. Charges are usually based on volumetric size rather than weight. I was able to ship a new H20 with trailer and other stuff from LA to Maui for $1300 as everything was boxed.
