Wow. If I only had a dollar for every time I've been guilty of that, even without drinking (I hate leaving regattas and friends)!

But it's so much more painful to finish putting the boat away after all that. Better to just get it done and THEN spend the time with the people.
That's one way to look at it, I guess...
Some of these people I only get to see once or twice a year anymore. The boat can wait.
