From looking at the schedule, the best dates would be:
2/19-20/10 or 2/26-27/10. That would provide the separation you need from all other events.

We would just have to arrange for food, gear and an assortment of different size cat trax to be ferried over.

Is the sand smoothe or more crushed shells like on Sanibel Island? I don't mind dragging my boat on normal sand but not ground shells.

It's like Sanibel.

How about just throwing a cheap tarp on the groung and dragging the boats up on that?

We use carpet to get the boats up over the Sea Wall at the Mug Cup. But you really only need about three different cat trax for different widths depending on boat types. And take turns using them. You only need them for pulling up the beach and back down.

I see know reason why this couldn't have a multitude of goals.

Laid back camping trip or Challenge race. There are lots of passes, shoals, and mangrove islands. We could plan a little something for everyone.

So what do we call it? The Cayo Costa Challenge? C^3?

We just need to make sure Tad doesn't get his camera wet.

Could even be a great camping trip for the non sailors. What a great trip to ground crew for (not that you would even need one)!!!

or

Cayo Costa Island Hop

depending on the spin you want to give it.

Who has enough power boats to get all of your stuff out there?

Do I take my H16 or volunteer with the fishin' boat?

The cabins are by reservations through the state park system. Get your reservations in early.

Did anyone say no-seeums.

The campers I've seen in the past rely on the ferry to transport their gear.

Hopefully the no see-ums won't be intolerable in February. There's no chance I'd do this in summer.

Oh! We'll need both boats! <img src="<>/smile.gif" alt="smile" title="smile" height="15" width="15" />

You might want to talk to them. Their regatta is a 3-day for many of the classes. The Waves only race Sat & Sun, and there are several other classes that only sail the two days.
They might give you a start.., who knows.
