How about ... a 25 dollar, two day regatta, with good race committee, a class of boats called Cat boats that look nothing like cats, no power boat traffic in the middle of summer, a 15 dollar half chicken dinner, free camping, dollar beers, and two very good bands... they have a bluegrass group for **** and dinner and then a band for dancing in the evening.

on the Chester River in the tree grove by the water side .... a filling BBQ chicken diner ... at beautiful spot w/ great music .... beer wagon and free camping if you don't/can't drive home

VERY VERY HOT weekend at Conquest Beach For Corsica River's 79th Annual Regatta.
The temperature easily hit 100 on Saturday afternoon but we had 6 to 10 on the water all weekend. Corsica just does a fabulous job with the hospitality and racing. Dinner served up a barbecued chicken, sweet corn, mellon, tomato and potato salad and a BROWNIE to DIE FOR. The Bluegrass band set the relaxed tone for the slow cool of the evening. The winner for the weekend... Lilly (a mom described Lilly as 6 going on 30).... She started with the fleet and sailed the first race! She was razing the 420 fleet later on that day and sailed into the evening... Smart Hobie 16 sailors should be looking for a hot Helm!

Congratulations to individual race winners Jamie Flanigan, Dan Flanigan and Mark Schneider. No amount of racing (extra laps or more distance seemed to seperate the Hobie 18's.. in the end Dave Raughly and Isabelle Strasser edged out Jim and Barbie Doty on the tie break. Nobody should mention that Collete Bolton beat her dad in the long race of the weekend...... Proof that young people manage HEAT much better then old farts... that's the ticket!
