Cruising cats being rated today in Miami
The Miami Boat Show ended Tuesday, but today Multihulls Magazine is hosting a Catamaran Challenge for all the big cruising cats that were on display. Teams will be sailing the boats to rate them on performance, construction, layout, amenities, comfort, ease of use, etc.
Rick is up there to help out as one of the sailors/observers, but the overall report on this "Challenge" will be in a future issue of Multihulls Magazine. Maybe Rick will take notes (yeah, right) and give us a little report on the event.
The Strictly Sail portion of the Miami Boat Show always has one of the largest congregations of cruising multihulls, so it is a good opportunity to put them all out there head to head on the water and see how they do in identical wind conditions.
Sorry, I don't know whether they are going to do it in a race format, but I think so.

Hey Mary,
You are one of the only few that can refer to Miami as traveling to "up there". Not many people have to head north to get to Miami.
I have been to the Miami Boat Show a few times and you are so right. They have the best display of multihulls I've ever seen. But, I've never been to the Annapolis Boat Show, which I've only read about. Anyway, I envy Rick. Maybe he can give us a brief report when he returns.
Come see us this spring in the panhandle.
