We will have it all:

* Tracking from gps satellite broadcasting units on each boat will give you each boat's position, and data every half hour. Remember "The Race?" Well, this will be the same only better and more exciting!

* Streaming Video that you can see almost immediately after the action -- taken from the beach, from airplanes, or wherever there is action

* Hot Line Beach Reports will be constantly flashing on your screen as events actually happen

* Current Articles/Interviews from a number of reporters -- all with different slants and views.

* Prompt Updates We will have our own satellite communications and will no longer need to find a phone line to upload data -- immediate streaming video, pictures, graphics, stories and articles.

Keep you Browser pointed to http://www.catsailor.com from now on. Don't miss anything!

Randy Smyth has notified officials that he will not be competing in the 2002 event. The reason for the withdrawal was not disclosed.

-It was great to see Paula and Randy at the S F regatta ,-

After sailing in so many major events and round the world we can allow him a break occationally , though he will be missed in numerous ways and mainly in always setting the standard for excellence in racing as testament by the numerous leg records Randy holds.

-Thanks Rick for the great coverage , -One idea for the competitors again ,-It would be nice to have a media room or tent adjacent to the beach entry for sailors to check into upon arriving or shortly after for brief interview.

With GPS tracking i forsee such questions as ,--according to your course the team actually went backwards after the cape , What was your stategy at this point in the race ?

--The answer would most likely be about how the crew was blasted off the back by hugh surf and the struggle to get the shute down and go back to find him .

Most of the real human interest drama occurs in mid and back fleet finishes with teams really struggling just to make it ,----the PYacht guys under jury rig as example -

-Let us know how to help -

take care

Carl

Hi Carl,

That is a great idea and one we want to really get into. Our crew is well versed on and once worked with the TV media in large network stations. One of the things we want to sell is to do interviews with a large ad behind the interviewee. Then we simply drop off a perfectly edited tape to the sports departments all the way up the coast.

Now, we just need to get that advertiser.

HELP! This stuff costs money. If anyone wants a lot of advertising bang for their buck, I believe we are going to have it to offer this year.

Good luck, Carl!

Rick

Hi Rick -one more thought -

Noticed the M M distance race in FL -

STEVE AND kENNY Team Tybee Island won -with Jay and John {Team Castrol }in second and Brian and Jamie 3rd -

You might get the story articles from that race and photos and put them up on the Worrell coverage site , --Worrell teams in training etc ,

-If there is a start-photos stories etc , it will be more attractive to potential sponsors ,-Teams may also wish to add some pre race info -links and articles -

-hope I,m helping -

this photo portrait on the side is your fault ,

have fun --see ya soon

Carl
