If you think the rivalry between Ainslie and Barker is at rest, try the site http://www.extremesailingseries.com/day2#.UwgyWjiYbDc

With Hagar, Macmillan, and the Alinghi Team in the hunt, go figure. Twelve boats this year feature some talent. Go for the replays since the time zones contrast - stadium sailing... I wish they would expand the course into open water.

The race officer is working double - handed with a sporty lady aboard a skiff. Rather interesting from a race management perspective. Many of us have been there, but not faced with the depth of talent on the line.

Glenn Ashby is trimming the main for Dean Barker aboard Emirates NZ.

Enjoy until the snow melts,

B

...just saw the coverage on SA... Groupama and Cammas were boarded by Aberdeen yesterday. Gotta run, but check that action out if you have the time. The replay ought to be a hoot.

Talk about double stacking 😉

Stadium sailing appears to be a pretty cool concept except for 1 big problem: Sailing in that crazy wind has got to really suck. Seems to me there is far too much luck involved when its like that.

That's all part of the game, and the sailors know it. I don't think there's a better type of event to showcase our sport. Even the unpredictability helps to make it a better event.

have to agree, the 'concept' seems to be working well, the America's Cup audience certainly benefited from it <img src="<>/grin.gif" alt="grin" title="grin" height="15" width="15" />

but when I google earth the Marina in Singapore, it's one tight little marina for such boats ......

not much room to swing a cat ....... pun intended <img src="<>/crazy.gif" alt="crazy" title="crazy" height="15" width="15" />

I like the event but cant be bothered to watch it live, its best viewed from the dock really.
The AC45s ran more realistic courses which i found much more interesting to watch from a sailing perspective.
