GYC Race Report-6/7/08
It was another great Saturday for some high performance catamaran racing here at the Gulfport Yacht Club in Gulfport Florida. The conditions were sunny, hot and more hot with a breeze probably tipping in around 8 knots.
It was a surprise to see Matt McDonald show up early this morning with his F16 and no Gina so we could assume Matt would be sailing uni. Robbie Daniels also showed up to sail his A-cat. When you have these to on the same course it is always very exciting.
The field was set with 6 Acats, 4 F16's, 1 F18 and 1 windmill (who was just out to sail the course with us).
After three races it was time to go in for some delicious shrimp sausage
shiskabob and potatoes.
It has been confirmed Wilder Robles will be receiving a F18 Capricorn
so we should be seeing him return to the GYC club racing on his own boat.
Next club race is scheduled for June 21st with the skipper's meeting at 12:00 noon. For any who would like to make a weekend of it, there is
also racing scheduled for June 22 at BCYC (next door to GYC, racing
on the same bay) with a skipper's meeting at 10:00 am.
As always you can see the final results of this weekends racing at

Wow,
Matt is pretty vocal about prefering to race the F16 as a 2-up and doing the 1-up only on the side when left without a crew; therefor his series of 3 bullets against Robbie Daniels is pretty impressive.
I'll bet Matt enjoyed himself on the water !
Congratulations.
