I am working on my H17 and installing a boom. Some of the parts were missing including the gooseneck. When I ordered a new gooseneck I was told I may need an upgrage kit depending on the age of the boat. Has anyone done this upgrade and could please discride the parts / what is involved. I am familure with the older style gooseneck setup.

Thank you in advance for the help!

if you took a picture of your gooseneck and boom I could tell you what you'd need.

The early H17 stainless steel goosenecks were subject to bending under load. Most guys who sail these boats have upgraded to the trentec super goose sold by Hobie...Dan

Go the the Hobie website and request a free catalog, it has the whole boat exploded with part numbers and descriptions.
