Hi guys I know this is probably obvious to most of you on this forum but I just can't figure out how to rig the jib on my Quattro 16.
So on the tramp you can see the upper and lower block, my guess is that the upper(single)block should be shackled to the clew of the jib sheet. What to do with the lower block, shackle it to the jib sheet track? There are 2 cleats at the mast base, one on each side. What do I do with those?
I have a picture from the cover of the Woods Catalogue and the block seems to be just hanging in mid air but not clear to me where the wires are coming from.
Please help this stupid person that has been sitting on this for a whole day now

You are on the right track, but there are many ways to do this.

I would have used a carabiner hook to secure a line to the jib. The other end of this line should be split in two, with a block in each end.
Depending on how much purchase you want, you start threading the sheet from the block on the jib or the block on the trampoline. Thread the sheet so it is continous, not split like on the images.
You must post a report on the project and how the boat handles when you start sailing it!

Where is the nearest sailing club? If you can take a look at a boat that is rigged, that will answer most of your questions.
The blocks with cleats shackle to the car on the jib tracks. The small single blocks (there should be two) are to be attached to the clew of the jib; a simple way is to tie one to each end of a small-diameter yet strong line, push the center of the line through the eye or grommet in the jib, then drop both blocks through the loop. The jib sheet is tied to the becket on the bottom block, runs thru the single block, then back to the bottom block, around it, and out thru the cleat. The other side has to be rigged the other way around, but make them alike. This will give you your 2:1 purchase on the jib.
Oh: The cleats on the mast are part of the downhaul system. There should be two double blocks on the tack of the mainsail; if so, the downhaul line will run in thru the cleat, up around the outer sheave of the double, down around the outer sheave of the triple on the boom, around the inner sheave of the double, around the middle sheave of the triple, and duplicate on the other side. It looks like a 6:1 purchase, probably fine for a 16' boat.

I have to admit that I'm not familiar with your Quattro but it seems like the main isn't all the way up. Have you figured out what holds it up while you are pulling down on it with the downhaul?
It looks like the jib isn't sleeved over the forestay wire. Does the jib luff have a zipper?
Lando, how is your mainsail secured to the top of your mast? It doesn't look like it is hooked (are you missing the schakle with the ring?).
Another question: It looks like the boom is mounted trough the mast rotation arm? The boom should really not go trough the mast rotation arm. Instead you trim rotation with a line going back to the cleat on your boom. Arm goes on upside of your boom with the setup you have.
Why isn't the jib hoisted on the forestay?
If you are uncertain about anything, please post a picture and ask before you go sailing. It's so easy to break all this expensive gear, and that would be a real shame.
That mainsheet angle looks all wrong. The jib isn't setup correctly. The main isn't all the way up etc. There are probably other errors that aren't clear in the photos.
Lando, I really, really strongly recommend that you find someone who knows how to rig your boat to show you how. And you should make notes/take photos so that you can refer back to them if you forget. After 2-3 sails where you have rigged/derigged yourself it'll all make sense and be more automatic.
The hailyard lock ring wasn't on the mast hook at the time, so thats why it's not to the top. The picture with the sails up was just for friends, the boat isn't ready yet. I gues I should have mentioned that I am getting a sailing instructer from the local sailing school to come and have a look tomorrow so all should be well.
