I just bought trap wires for a Hobie Getaway. They seem to long and appear to be cut for a boat without wings (mine has wings). When they are adjusted as high as possible, it fits loosely on my harness while sitting on the trap.
I'd like there to be more adjustment room (I think). How much should I shorten the trap wire so there is more flexibility with adjustment and the handle is not so close to my body.

Have you written Matt Miller on the Hobie Cat website? He's normally really good with these questions. What happens when you hike out? Do you have a pull on the bungee that holds it down? Maybe the bungee should be shortened.
