Hey Tampa Bay, I need a boat...
Or rather my buddy does. After a 10+ year hiatus from sailing, my friend is finally ready to buy a cat again. Requirements:
-Prefer 18' or larger w/ trailer
-Requires little or no up-front repair (i.e. ready to sail)
-Nothing with dagger boards (centerboards OK)
-Located in the Tampa Bay area.
-$2000 or less
I know I'm reaching here (pun intended) but I promised I'd throw up a post. PM me if you have something to part with. Cash in hand. Thanks!
-Jon
P.S. Here's a pic because everyone loves pics. It's Brittany attempting to pee in the Gulf last weekend. Poor thing has terrible stage fright and rather than heading up so she could go in peace, I grabbed the camera and kept sailing because it was far more entertaining. ![[Linked Image]](http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/headhinter76/sailingjuly008.jpg)
There was a Beer?? <img src=

There was a Beer holder?? <img src=

There was a trapeze?? <img src=

Damn, I had to scroll back and look at the picture again. <img src=

I guess I'm not dead yet <img src=

For the moment my 6 week grounding is up; however, I'm seeking PFO Closure surgery. I visited Mass. Gen'l last week for a second opinion and am waiting on results and
nomination
for PFO Closure Surgery. If so, I'll likely get it done mid-August then I'm down again for another 6-8 weeks [maybe I can make it to Alter Cup Area D South].

So Jon, what are your choices?
Boardless:
GCat 5.7 - Ask Hans what he's got.
Prindle 18 ??
Dart 18 - I just sold mine. Others around, perhaps.
Nacra 570 - none in Florida
Supercat 17/19 - worth looking for! A 17's da bomb.
Centerboards:
Mystere 5.5/6.0 You know the inventory - Zack?
Hobie 17 - not a party boat so why bother?
Prindle 18.2 - none around
Prindle 19 - I'd guess there are some to be had locally. Too big?
Not a long list. There is a nice looking Nacra 5.2 on Craigs List down in Sarasota. Board boat, however.
What's a shallow water sailor to do? <img src=

I hate to rain on everyone's parade but the drink holder (who am i kidding, those holders have never seen anyting besided beer) is attached to the side stay.... the dog bone just happens to be in the same area during that picture.
Jon, you better hope Brisket doesn't find out your posting her pics here... i think you are buying me lunch for the foreseeable future!
Yea, I guess a g-cat or prindle 18, 18-2, or 19 would be ideal. If I could find a decent dart in the area that would work too. (Dave I wish my friend had stepped up a couple months ago)
Thankfully Brisket has a decent sense of humor.
To the guy who mentioned the PFD: It's Florida man, not the UK. We don't get 20 knots everyday and it's too damn hot to wear them. Besides, I can always get another girlfriend, but I'd be pissed if I lost the Extrasport jacket. It took a while to find that shade of red.

The only reason you could post that pic is because I gave you the battery's for your camera. <img src=

About the PFD's. Air temp 92', water temp 92.1' and wind that day about 7 knots. Jealous?? In the bay we sail in at low tide you could walk through most of it and never get your hair wet.
Headhunter,
I think all the Prindles are boardless or centerboard models, here's a few for sale, mostly Prindle 16's though.

If your friend can go less than 18 ft, then the Hobie 16 is a good choice, unless he's

Here's half a dozen for sale
