I have been racing my Hobie 17 with my young son (40Kg) and have a combined crew weight of around 140Kg.
Recently my son has elected to sail another boat (wants to skipper) and so I have commenced sailing single handed.
Should I be handicapped further or in reality was I handicapped by sailing with a crew of two?
Minimum crew weight in the rules is around 72Kg!

If you were sailing the H17 sport, then you probably should pickup a crew. However, the H17 SE (no jib or bow foil) is designed to be sailed singlehanded.
So the question is, do you have a jib?
